Crying Out For Magic -
Coming September 2025
An overly optimistic mage and an awkward fantasy nerd could be all the love and magic the other needs if they can make both their broken worlds fit together.
Draven Montrose’s world, Galdorsfarne, is like a soggy firework: so much potential, so little sparkle. Magic is running out, and so are his dating options. Whilst he should be grateful for a cruelty-free world, he’s never known anything else. His (entirely realistic and modest) goals for the year are to solve the magical energy crisis — and get a proper boyfriend.
Niall Silverstein lives in Northern England, wishing fantasy stories were real and he had the guts to talk to cute boys. He isn’t out to his parents, he’s never kissed anyone, and he’s convinced he’ll die alone in a corner of the library, a spotty and unloved nerd.
Their daydreams become reality when Draven accesses a restricted area containing a portal to Niall’s—our—world. Once Niall gets over his awkwardness and Draven gets over his confusion about what a mobile phone is, nothing should stop their blossoming romance…

About Me
P.S.C. Willis
P.S.C. Willis (they/them) is a queer British writer, and graduate of both Newcastle University and Reading University. They currently live in Shanghai, where they have quit any number of hobbies (ukulele, rollerskating, drag) but stuck fairly well to writing. Their work spans everything from flash fiction to novel length, mostly in sci fi and fantasy. Community is a huge part of their writing process, and they run a local workshop and writing meet ups, as well as connecting with fellow writers in many online spaces.
P likes to create stories that allow others to believe in good people, in magic, or both.
They have been published in multiple anthologies and their debut novel ‘Crying Out for Magic’ will be released in Autumn 2025.
